Challenge 1: This year has brought all of us many challenges, but  for our fourth grade room it has been the new exposure to Google Classroom. If teaching from a computer wasn’t difficult enough… my new 9 year olds have little to no typing skills and minimal knowledge of Google Classroom, which is our remote learning platform.

I would say the biggest struggle with this, is that parents also do not know how to navigate through this new platform. It is a constant struggle and battle to keep up with the emails that flood in every hour asking a variety of questions.

I 100% feel for the parents, as this is new to all of us. But as the teacher who is also an “in person” teacher, this use of technology has me feeling completely overwhelmed. It’s my hope that as the days turn into weeks that we  can all become more comfortable and confident in our (parents, students, and teachers) remote learning skills.
